New Business Models & Roaming Strategies for
Business Transformation towards Profitability in the 3G & LTE Era

The Asian roaming market has an incredible growth potential ahead of it –
Be well-positioned to capitalize on the business opportunities available.

Asia Pacific is the second-biggest market in terms of roaming users. However, the region's current total of 93 million roaming users is less than half the number of roaming users in Europe, the leading market for roaming. There is a predominance of business roaming users in Asia Pacific; this segment accounts for approximately 60% of total roaming users.

Informa Telecoms & Media estimates that, of all the regions, Asia Pacific will have the highest roaming revenue growth rate in next few years. Asia Pacific will have the highest roaming revenue growth rate in next few years, according to Informa Telecoms & Media. Total data roaming revenue (including SMS) is expected to grow at a CAGR of 19% between 2010 and 2015, but it will not increase sufficiently to have a representative share over total roaming revenue. Consequently, it is predicted that data roaming's share of the region's total revenue (including SMS) will not rise higher than 4% throughout the forecast period.

It is the uptake and increasing usage of non-messaging roaming data services that will be largely responsible for the increase in overall data roaming revenues. As in other regions, most of the data roaming usage will be based on non messaging data as it will allow the deployment of diverse number of mobile applications.

Building on the success of Informa Roaming Global Series, 7th Mobile Roaming Asia 2011 Congress taking place in Hong Kong from 14-16 November 2011 continues to be the ONLY unique forum focusing on roaming business opportunities (for LTE, 3G, 2G, & Mobile Broadband), challenges and strategies for the Asia Pacific region.
